ALD's annual meeting could attract record numbers

The Academy of Laser Dentistry is expecting record attendance at its 13th Annual Meeting, Source 2006: Lasers in Dentistry.

The meeting will be held at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort in Tucson, Ariz., March 15-18, 2006. The theme of the meeting is "conFluence of Science, Technology, and Clinical Expertise".

Five invited researchers and academicians are scheduled to present in Tucson.

They are: John D.B. Featherstone, M.Sc. Ph.D, Professor, Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences University of California, San Francisco on the topic "Caries & Prevention with Respect to Lasers".

Paul Giovannone, CDT, Biogenic Technical Instructions, LLC (BTI), on the topic "Enhancing Dental Treatment Outcomes Through Laser Welding".

Prof. Andreas Moritz, MD, DMD, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry, Dental School, University of Vienna on the topic "Lasers in Endododontics ? An Overview of the Literature and Current Research Studies".

Wolf D. Seka, PhD, Senior Scientist and Associate Professor of Optics, University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics on the topic "Laser Ablation Mechanisms in Hard Tissue and their Clinical Relevance".

Sofia Tranĉus, DDS, PhD, Department of Cariology and Endodontology, Institute of Odontology, Karolinska Institutet, SWEDEN on the topic "QLF and Other Diagnostic Tools".

The conference spans 3 days of learning through General and Scientific lectures, Hands-on workshops, limited attendance Advanced Laser Clinics, Panel Discussions, Certification Programs and Exhibitor Seminars. Attendees can earn up to 24 hours of CE.
